Profile:
Cambio is an international software, hardware and technology
products distributor with central headquarters in New York.
Distribution centers are strategically located on the East and West
Coast of the United States. Cambio
is the distributor for the majority of products they offer, however,
they are experiencing an increase of drop-shipment capabilities from
their vendors. With clients in over 10 countries, including South Africa,
Australia, Israel and throughout the USA, Cambio services a diverse
clientele.
The
Challenge:
With
an ever increasing array of clients and vendors, Cambio was
experiencing multi department difficulties. Forecasting and projecting necessary inventory quantities
offered regular miscalculated inconsistencies.
Conflicting stock assignments began to hinder timely
delivery. Vendor drop
shipment arrangements became a necessary business process.
An order tracking system was nonexistent, and overall supply
chain inefficiency began to eat away the companies slimming margins.
Unsure of the technology available, Cambio began to search for
solutions to correct each departments issues, individually.
After some initial consultation, Cambio began to discover
conflicting opinions, and a vast array of possible solutions; most
of which did not have the capability to solve all departmental
issues.
After Cambio
first contacted AdvanceWareÔ,
we spent a full day at their headquarters.
We examined all their current systems, spoke with heads of
every department, and created a concentrated "wish list” of
functionality. Cambio’s initial concerns seemed to be the tip of the iceberg.
We discussed solving additional issues Cambio was unaware
could be simplified. For
example, while brainstorming with the Cambio sales department,

customer’s warehouse, and the order process would begin

With the
expansion Cambio was enjoying, customer communication became an
increasing issue. Cambio
knew an order tracking system was necessary in order to keep their
customers informed and satisfied.
Also, Cambio realized the need to have EDI compatibility as
many of their vendors followed suit.

minimizing steps. Communication
with Accounting, real-time inventory reports, and wireless ordering capabilities
armed sales to vault ahead.
Clients

Online, the client now has the ability to view new products to
market, request inquiries and order them directly.
Real-time order tracking greatly improved customer retention.
Paper trails and order inaccuracies have been almost
eliminated.
Administrator
– Complete control and overview allows the administrator to manage
each department efficiently, and run accurate forecasting and
reporting features.
